Live Blogging An All-Nighter

I’m staying up late tonight to finish work on a project. This will be my first “all-nighter” since the co-ed glory days.

Back in those days, we didn’t have fancy “tumblogs” or “twitters,” so I thought it might be fun to update the all-nighter for the Web 2.0 era.

Presenting….Live Blogging an All-Nighter

1:24 AM: I thought of this live blogging idea ten minutes ago. Which means I’ve already wasted ten minutes. Oops.

1:48 AM: I’m listening to The Eels. I think they only have about 10 distinct songs. Time for a new album? Mix song two with song six and slow it down a little…I’ve written one page in 24 minutes.

2:20 AM: I haven’t watched The Colbert Report yet today. I’m due for a break, right? Hulu here I come.

2:47 AM: Totally worth it. My eyes are burning…I think I’ll make coffee soon.

3:54 AM: My computer is tired, too. It needed a reboot. Remind me again why:

a) I don’t own an Apple

b) I don’t get to reboot myself for at least a few more hours.

3:56 AM: Fresh coffee = my defrag. It seems like it’s helping but is ultimately futile.

5:19 AM: I’m on a roll. It’s strange how the Internet has nothing on at five in the morning. The similarities between the Internet and television continue to grow. And Ginsu Knives and empty RSS readers make for a productive work environment.

5:24 AM: I’m reading through my live blog entries so far and am now regretting the large number of nerd jokes. What have I become!

6:13 AM: Continuing to chug through at a highly productive rate. It’s cold in the apartment due to our programmable thermostat so I’m huddled under a small fort of blankets. “Normal people” in my time zone are beginning to wake up.

7:16 AM: I just woke up from an accidental nap. It’s morning and I still have work yet to do. To sleep or not to sleep?

9:26 AM: Slept. Please say it still counts, I don’t want to go back and do it again…
