The US Treasury (or any bank) will exchange a torn bill if it’s more than 50% present. It’d be interesting to attempt to tear a bill exactly in two pieces…leading two banks to exchange the bills for new currency and thereby doubling your money. I think that’s a stand-up routine waiting to happen.
