Two years ago, Kienan and I were walking home from a bar in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago to the apartment in Roscoe Village where we were staying.

Drunk (naturally) and feeling great, we ran into Sharkula

He spotted us as tourist rubes and peddled his latest CD for only $5. In a buying mood, Kienan asked him to sing us a few songs from the disc. He refused…but offered to freestyle for us instead.

After seeing this video, I understand why he couldn’t sing us a song from his album…the dude doesn’t write songs. He just gets in the studio and starts talking. (Which probably explains why the Sharkula discography includes 33 albums in the last 7 years).

And yet, this video should have 3 million views, not 3,000. Choice lyrics include:

“I’m in a blouse, I’m Mighty Mouse.”

“Sonny Bono eating a bagel in a Winnebago.”

“Chuck Norris, Chuck Woolery, I need Woolite. I need to have the stars shine bright.”

P.S. His video editing skills get honorable mention.

P.P.S. We bought his album and it was the best $5 I’ve ever spent. And I’ve listened to the CD-R he gave us twice. Tops.
