The Stupidity of a Gas Tax "Holiday" →
“Hillary Clinton has decided to line up with John McCain in pushing to suspend the federal excise tax on gasoline, 18.4 cents a gallon, for this summer’s travel season. This is not an energy policy. This is money laundering: we borrow money from China and ship it to Saudi Arabia and take a little cut for ourselves as it goes through our gas tanks. What a way to build our country.”

Greatest Hits (A Muxtape Game)
I recently went through an old leather CD case, purging old burned CD’s to make room for audiobooks - which I’ve been listening to more and more on my semi-daily commute. While doing this, I came upon a CD titled “Tim’s Greatest Hits.” Curious, I decided to leave it in the case and listen to it the following morning en route to work. The next morning, I popped in my...
On Comments
Lately I’ve found myself getting sucked into the comments section of an article I’ve just finished reading online. Typically, after 10-12 comments, I realize I’m consuming absolute filth…and quit. With exceptions, I think the web would be better off sans comments. I’m sorry I encouraged the opposite. I’ve fixed the issue.
Hillary's New Inevitability →
Although Clinton supporters may disagree, this is a very honest and reasonable summary of the Pennsylvania primary results and what it means for the Democratic nomination race.

Two Minutes and 42 Seconds in Heaven →
Joshua Allen explains why the perfect pop song is 2:42 in length: “Here’s the problem: ‘More Than a Feeling’ is four minutes and 47 fucking seconds long. I don’t have time for that kind of nonsense. That’s, like, one-seventh of my recreation right there. Don’t get me wrong, slugger. I love ‘More Than a Feeling.’ Those who don’t are your basic a-holes. But it’s like:...

I gave lectures to several groups of high school students yesterday about entrepreneurship.
The title of my talk was “Needs+Networking=Business Ideas”.
However, I decided yesterday morning that I would focus more on the topic of failure. Specifically, the benefit of being unafraid to fail. I will write more on the subject in a short while, but in the meantime I wanted to share this...

I just signed up to read John D. Rockefeller’s Random Reminiscences of Men and Events via RSS (although you could do it by email). From Daily Lit:“If you are like us, you spend hours each day reading email but don’t find the time to read books. DailyLit brings books right into your inbox in convenient small messages that take less than 5 minutes to read. This works incredibly...

More Fun w/ HTML & CSS
I did some spring cleaning on the blog. Here’s what it used to look like: Now let’s see the current theme (the one you’re looking at now): The main change is added comments - so now you don’t need to have a Tumblog to respond to something I write. I also tightened up the spacing in the header and between posts. Finally, I changed the bottom navigation and footer...
